Question to ask before installing the heads

I finished lapping the valves and my heads are all cleaned up and ready to install. For the head bolts, I will be reusing the ARP bolts and which bolt gets coated with rtv? The long or short one? Or do both get coated with rtv?

The ones that go thru the water passages.





Edit: short ones! I like to use permatex ultra gray high torque...

The Edlebrock heads have studs and what should I torque them to?

None of them should have RTV. you want a thread sealant, not a gasket maker.

Worked for me.. But threat sealant makes more sense.

Arp has there own torque specs..
