I would definitely offer 10. How long has been listed on Autotrader or how long has it been on his lot? I think if you look hard enough on like Corral and stuff you can find a killer deal on a Cobra for what you are looking to spend.

I agree with Josh. But, if you really like that one, GO FOR IT :thumb:

Bring cash and make them say no.

If not its all talk and they will balk.

My brother has a car lot and Cobra's are treated a little different.

They probably paid a little more for it to begin with.

A 2 grand discount is a lot to a car lot.

Like I said money talks.

If its been on sale since January I think you might have a good shot at 10k then. They may be motivated to sell it then!

Like mentioned 2k is a big drop for a dealership. but money talks and if they think you are going to walk away they might go for it.

i don't blame you, 12k is alot for a cobra. most i'd pay is maybe 10.5 if it's immaculate with low miles

they wont say anything on the phone. actually go there with a cheque for 10000. show it to him, and tell him thats all you have. i can almost guarantee you'll walk out of there with a cobra

That's totally true. When they see that you actually have $10k, it may change their minds.

Pleeeeease tell me the door "stripe" is just a vinyl decal :wall: Other than that, looks like a nice ride, especially if it's an original
TX car.

just came from the dealership i took a cashiers ck for 9900 and no dice. these guys thought that i didn't know my stuff. they were trying to feed me a load of stuff telling me that cobras were only made from 96-99 blah blah and the stripe on the side is painted on. so i left because they would not go down on the price so i walked away.

Whats funny is that with the economy slowing you would think they would be more open minded. But good job not letting them bully you. I bought my 95 GT vert for 6200 6 months ago, and they wanted 8900 but I told em what I would pay and then when they said they couldnt deal I told em bye, and guess what they caught up w/ me in the parking lot. My 95 had 87k miles new top, extra clean interior, no engine leaks, and good paint. I know I could have prob got a better deal but I liked it and I bought it.

In other words keep looking and you will find the car you want for the price you want. Just be patient :thumb:
