Aight im new here to this sn95forum but......... I've seen forums where people with 94-04 mustangs try to break the 300rwhp mark N/A thats also what im trying to do............. i have a 98 gt (auto) but right now im basically stock Beside the 75mm T/b, CAI, Flowmaster Cat- back, and Upper plenum...........I'm getting the block bored over 30, I'm adding Stage 3 ported pi heads, Cams, Professional Product intake, UD pulleys, Mac Longtubes headers , mac x-pipe , and a tune for now..... i was wondering where to get a good set of ported heads and good set of cams From... n where do you think i'll stand as for as Horsepower........

Fox Lake or Modular Powerhouse will both have head/cam packages to make you happy and i would use the stock plastic intake before that junk. You might be better off trying to find a Bullit intake.

careful going .030 over on the bore...most shops would recommend going no more than .020 over on the 4.6l blocks. I have seen plenty of people selling .030 over short blocks and they make plenty of .030 pistons, but if your going to be spending 2k+ on a aftermarket rotating assembly, you might as well spend the 300 bucks to buy a virgin block and keep the standard bore. If your going just for displacement there are some forged stroker kits out there that'd put ya at 298ci. However you should reach 300rwhp N/A on the stock short block fairly easy...just gonna cost about as much as the car is worth.

I'd either do a pi swap with cams or go with a 4v cause you can get a forged 4v from ford racing with a warranty and 10.0:1 compression for 5400. forged rotating assembly, cams, GOOD ported heads and a good intake could easily cost you 5000. Its kinda a waste but it does have a cool factor. Also your gas mileage is gonna drop like 25 %. Probably around 15-16 on highway.

Just let me know. You could take a stock set of heads and send them to MMR and have them do a stage 3 port job on them for 750 and the Stock PI intake can't be bested on a stock or near stock app. All you would need is some cams... another 500/600 bucks. Good luck :thumb:

FYI, the stock PI intake flows 660 CFM. Teh almighty LS6, flows under 300, the aftermarket LSx intakes, right around 300.

PI is plenty suffiencient for ANY motor you can build, unless you are trying to build power north of 6500 rpm's.

A mod list like this,
Ported head's
"stage 2" cams, something around 270 degrees of duration on a 110 LSA, around .560-.575 lift.
Longtubes
Mid pipe
Tune
Cherry on top

Will get you there.

Most people, I would wager, buy cams for the cool sound they give the car, more than the performance. Ever heard an old muscle car? How it will nearly die, then idle up, then nearly die, the idle up again. That's the "cam" sound everyone is after.

A cam mostly shifts your engines current power around, trading torque for HP, low end for top end, etc. This usually happens at the expense of idle quality, and low speed driveability.

No worries though, what most people call a "stage 2" cam is perfectly streetable. Just be ready to budget about 4k for all this.

With stage three heads and big cams, be ready for your power band to be high, and If you plan on revving the bejesus out of it, built internals are strongly suggested!

If you are getting PI heads, you don't need the kit. Unless I misunderstand your intentions, you are getting the PI heads right?

Jeff, one of our admins here (Dalamar) lost some power with it, and pretty much every other review I've seen of it, has involved it breaking, or not fitting, or generally being shitty.
