first off this is not on my car ( i don't like "cheap" when it's my vehicles) This is the 3rd time my sister has wrecked her car, so I
am not going to invest the money to have a body shop do this. I needed to repaint her front bumper, so i got an aerosol can
of her car's paint code, and prepped and painted the bumper. Next I sprayed aerosol Clear Coat in 2 light coats, wetsanded with
2000 grit, then 2 more med. coats.. My question is, is it possible to get the Spray Paint clear coat to become a relatively close
match (gloss wise) to the factory panels? i own both a cheap 6" auto parts store buffer, as well as a BluePoint 7" DA polisher,
but am timid that the polisher will do more harm than good on spray paint.... any suggestions?

No idea man if the clear has cured i am sure it will hold up somewhat just not sure for how long though. I am sure the polisher will generate a good amount of heat on that surface and it might get too Hot ?? Trying to be a little help.

hmmm never tried it before, maybe try getting a medium rubbing compound and do it by hand. that way there is not that much heat and your still creating a nice shine

you could try using low speed on you buffer it if does adjust.
Elbo grease may be your best bet if you are afraid to mess it up.

Yeah my polisher is adjusting. (1500-4000 if my memory serves me correct). All the google searches i did, they all said
"spray multiple coats of clear, wait a day, then buff it using mild buffing compound" but none of them specified if they
used an Orbital, DA polisher, or the ol right arm for their method of choice....

screw a day, id wait a few days let that clear get stupid hard just for the fact that normal clear will have a catalist and solvents that need to get out, im not sure how the clear in a rattle can works but basically the longer you wait the harder that clear will be just dont worry bout the highs and lows of that rattle can job get it ust about even and then hit it with a real mild compound go over it ALOT but use low speed, as far as amount of layers of clear id do like 4 or 5 good ones

hmm... yeah i guess that makes sense... I think i used 3 spray cans of clear on this one bumper, so i won't make the same mistake
last time of not having enough clear to sand. I think i have some fine-cut polishing compound lying around, might have to give that a
try later in the week.
