I installed my O/R X pipe this weekend and I am running the magnaflow magnapacks and it has a very bad smell. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it will go away.

I mean it smells like the exhaust gasses are all over the place if that makes any sense, this smell wasn't there before i put the pipe on.

Well now you know what cats do....they remove pollutants from the air & apparently bad smells...although sometimes they generate them too I think.That's too bad this happened I don't know any solutions beyond a good tune up maybe.

might be just the oils burning off. Drive it a couple day and see if it goes away

also ur mid pipe and catback gotta fill with carbon, that'll lessen the odor a bit. but... ive ONLY driven cars without cats so i dont even notice it anymore haha

maybe someone took a dump in ur catback haha
no but really, after you let some carbon build up the smell isnt so bad.. unless you have a leak between the midpipe and catback so its just coming straight through the bottom.
edit. and by bottom i mean the floor

The smell really never goes away, most of us just get used to it after a while but most people will complain about it the first couple of times they ride in the car. I had a catless Xpipe and drove my car like that for around 4 years with the smell, went away when I go my catted Bassani X

Mine smells a lot like gas on the outside with the Magnflow O/X too, but that's because it has not cats.
Although mine smells a lot. I know a lot of mustang guys who are catless and theirs' don't smell anywhere near like mine. Sure you smell gas out of their exhaust too but not like mine haha. OH well.
