I've been working on the motor/trans combo for the fastback for the last 3 months now. I'm having to dig around and try to get her put together, but keep getting a step forward and two back, changing plans/things on the car. I finally got the motor done and set it in the car last night. The actual hooking up, hoses, carb, fuel, accessories, wiring I did tonight.

I score a hella deal the other day for the car. The fella who bought our old race car wanted the C6 that we used in it, and that we were going to use in the 70 for the race car. So he offered me 700 cash for it. I didn't have a trans to put back in it, so I said no and just told him I plan to yank it for a 5 speed swap in the winter. Ended up his nephew had a brand new TKO500 with a lakewood scatter shield, Centerforce billet steel flywheel, centerforce dual friction clutch, correct driveshaft, and trans mount, all for my car, and it was brand new. SOOOO 1300 dollars and giving him the C6 later, I came home with a brand new TKO 500 setup. I'm still tickled about it. It's so beautiful, I've never had one before. Just waiting on the right midplate to put it in. If you can tell the trans isnt in the car yet. I'm going to have to assemble in the car.

I know not many people are into old cars here, but pretty much this combo will rock the socks off most cars that line up next to it.

JEALOUS! I'm just hoping I can afford my friends old T5 out of her 86 that I can have rebuilt and swap in.

Motor looks good in the car. Pretty clean and I know its gonna be one helluva fun car.

Not sure if you meant hot as in like actual temperture or hot as in the vroom vroom of the car... but...
Does your car have the foldy windows on the side? I love them in my 67. Roll down all the windows, pop them bad boys open, and go. Only heat problem I had was when it rained, obviously, but that was a huge leak problem too... and when I'd get on it, the fan would blow all the engine heat through this hole to the inside because I had a watchamacallit in the firewall fall out. But windows down > A/C anyways.

Hope so LOL. Both actually. Either way, I've been in worse. The exhaust won't be tortourusly close to the floor and its ceramic coated. Less heat, more insulation, all will work out good.
