I love reading stories about cars people have beaten and raced with their mustangs so i just thought i would share mine.
I have had my car for around 5 months now and have gotten used to how it drives and shifts, so i figure im ready to race competively and not embarass mustangs anymore than they have been lately. Mustangs get a bad rep around here because of mouthy kids with v6s that are bad drivers.
A guy i know has a perfect quarter mile straight stretch of old highway by his house that we race on. The first time i went there I raced a kid with one of those supercharged cobalt ss. Its stock with intake and exhaust. He beat me by a car 3 times in a row, which sucked. I learned from my mistakes and spun tires less and shifted later. The three races later i had beaten him 3 times a car or more each time which was pretty cool.
With my newfound confidence i saw this dude in town with an auto 350 Nova. He talks crap on my car everytime i see him so when i mentioned race he was all for it. I barely spun a tire on takeoff and left on him. all of my shifts were great but he pulled a car ahead of me and i couldnt close the gap. I had to admit that his car is faster than mine which is tough to do, but his car was smokin on the way home and he had to pull over on the way home. I drove all over town the rest of the night and my car never skipped a beat. :tongue3:
Im officially addicted now. I was satisfied for a while with a semi fast car but i need more. stock heads are holding me back...
