Ive got a 1996 mustang gt and the other day i was driving and gunned it through a turn and blew a hole in my heater hose. We replaced it and now when i throw it into 2nd the hose just shoots off spilling all my coolant...what can i do to fix this
You have way too much pressure in the system if you're blowing hoses off. I wonder if you have a blockage/restriction somewhere that is causing the excess pressure? Which hose are you blowing off, the upper or lower?
is it running hotter than usual>? maybe airpockets in the system...did you purge the system when filling it back up with coolant? I usually let it run for about 15 minutes or so to push all the air bubbles out of the system. I dunno if this would lead to you blowing hoses though.
Just guessing by your name that you have a supercharger, you might be pressurising the coolant system some how. There might be a intake gasket leak letting boost pressure into the coolant system. :dunno:
The factory hose clamp is a single use design. It is not made to be opened up and then to hold tightly again. Buy a wormgear clamp and tighten that sucker down.
