Radiator Install

Well Today was the day to install the new radiator. So I did. I have some pictures. The Items purchased beside the coolant were the Hi-Miler Hose kit from goodyear, 180* Thermo, Mishimoto Radiator and SS Hose Clamps.

The pictures go as follows,

where and how much did u pick that rad up for?

I know American Muscle sells them for 199.99 shipped I believe. It works really well (i guess its been installed for half a day....) I did a lot of research on them and they seem to be the best choice for the money.

so did you cut the hose yourself or what?
im on their website and cant find any car specific kits :wall:

that hose kit is on summitracing for about $60 i believe.

Yeah I got the hose kit off ebay actually and it was almost 100 bucks. Also, I did have to chop one of the hoses slightly.

now that you've had the rad in for a month or so how do you like it? any fit probs? how's the cooling? I'm looking at gettin one soon. i've replaced everything under hood except the rad sooo that is next

Mishimoto is who makes them. Glad I bought mine when I did they have gone up in price. Only paid $200 for mine shipped

I hate to be a negative Nancy but I have some bad news. My rad broke on me about two months into the install. Had a inter core leak. Installed my second one via warranty claim (fast and friendly service) worked good for about a month and now its leaking too! I just got the form to send it back to them again and try a third one..... It pisses me off so much.

Yeah, Ive been talking to Chris over at Mishimoto. He seems like a nice guy, and has been helping me out. But at what point do I say :thefinger: to those rads and go buy another route....

True, but at what point do you pay twice as much for a Fluidine and still have a leaking radiator? Ive heard more stories on those leaking then anything else.

See at least you understand that. People always just tell me that Im stupid from ordering something that just sounds cheap. I mean, I did my research and spoke to a lot of fellow SN95 owners and they all said for the money, Mishimoto was a good way to go.

what it comes down to is it actually the product that is the problem or is there more to it? Ive heard before that body flex can tweak radiators and cause them to leak. I have the 4 point cage, welded subframes and the strut tower brace. My car has no body roll when turning the wheel hard. Im not saying that is the issue here but it could be a factor.

I dont want to contradict myself b/c in other threads Ive said you get what you pay for but in this case I dont think the quality of a twice as much fluidyne is any better then the Mishimoto

I agree with you on all points mentioned. I hope its not the body flex issue. Im getting Subframes soon but in terms of that type of stuff, I just have a strut bar and some minor suspension upgrades. I would be pissed to find that because of my body flexing that Im breaking my rad.
