What is behind the A/C lines where they run into the firewall? what are they tying into?

and

What does it mean if it looks like my pressure plate and flywheel have heat spots on them?

the a/c lines are connected to the heater core.(that's how you get cool air into the car)
the clutch heat spots are from sliping. if it's not notchy or warped or slipping when your driving i would not sweat it
