rear end popping noise

Hey guys,

Need a little help here. I have a 97 cobra and when I accelerate from a stop, right when I get going I hear a pop from the rear. Not sure where it's coming from but sounds like maybe coming from passenger side rear. any help would be great

it only pops once? as soon as you let the clutch out?
sounds like u-joints.
if your sure it's on the passenger side, make sure the lug nuts are tight.

Raise the rear on jackstands and get under the car, move the driveshaft back and forth and see if there's excessive noise or play. Also move the tires back and forth and listen for clunking. I went through the same thing, the popping noise came out to be two shattered u-joints, but also found out my rear end needed a rebuild. Good luck
