If you mean bending your axle tubes for a little negative camber, don't bother. I don't fully understand why racers do it but for anything on the street its really ridiculous... not to mention the most negative camber I'v heard of running on a live axle is -2.5, and thats with a full floater designed for it. If you want Camber for fitment purposes do an IRS swap like me!

was told by a friend who has a fox body that by setting it to -3 degrees i could possibly achieve shaving a second of 1/4 mile time. so i thought i would try it if i dont like how its set up i would change it. i trust him and his judgement he is very knowledgable on mustangs. but i hardly talk to him anymore due to work

adjusting the pinion angle will help improve the angle of your drive line and how it plants your wheels to the ground. Its used as a benefit to drag racing. Yes you need adjustable upper control arms like this.

and you need a magnetic angle gauge

Basically when you turn that center turn buckle on the upper arm it will shorten / lengthen the arm which will point your rear end down or raise it up. You make equal adjustments to each side until you get the pinion angle you want then you turn the other bolts on the arm to lock it in place.

if you want to replace the bushing you will also need a bushing removal tool from Maximum Motorsports

I replaced mine.

and here is a better shot of the control arm.

Wait.... Your friend thats supposedly VERY knowledgeable said you could shed a full second off your 1/4 mile time by doing that? Sorry but thats just flat out wrong. Maybe a tenth or two off your 60ft time...

key word is COULD. like i said i wanted to give it a try. he probably has other variables that play a key role that helped him and just wont tell me. i dont know for sure. thats besides the point. basically i got my answer i have to spend more money in order to set my pinion angle

Your not going to drop a second by adjusting your pinion angle. It will get your power to the ground better and result in better 60' times but not huge drops like a second. Dropping seconds off from times is in the ball park of power adders Boost / Nitrous.
