Open ended vs closed end lug nuts?

Open end spline drives for me , extended wheel stud life . Rust don’t get that car doesn’t see rain .

Thanks, everyone! I got the feedback that I anticipated I’d get. I just wanted to hear some real life examples of each to make sure. Now, to try these out ( and to avoid cheap-ass Chinese JUNK, what brand(s) would you recommend?
On edit: McGard? Gorilla? White Knight. All made in U.S.A. Here’s the Gorilla page…
Or, the local Ace hardware store to see if they have any in grade 8?

These are the McGards I have.
They are more costly but well worth it. No rust after several years. Like I said I've removed and installed them several times every season.


I believe there is also a 20 pack version available as well. I piece mealed my set together on eBay. Buying from the cheapest listings. Just do a search for this part #

I also have a chrome set of them that I use on some of my other wheels.

Mcgards are great. Have the closed Acorns on both cars.

Can confirm Mcgards are good stuff - that's what I went with when I purchased new wheels. They're a bit higher, but worth it.

Sent the open ended ones back and replaced with black, but not splined, White knight lugs.
