The bearings in my 97 Cobra rear end are toast. Im not sure of the condition of the gears, the bearing noise is so loud thats all I hear. I bought the car about a month ago, the PO stated the rear end had just been serviced.

I just installed 17x9 oem Cobra wheels with 275-40-17s all the way around.

I would really like to replace the rear end with one from a New Edge for the added width to push the tires out to the fender lip.

Will my Cobra brakes mount to a New Edge rear end?

If not I will rebuild what I have and use a 1/2 or 1in spacer to push the wheels out where I want them.

If I remember correctly the brakes mount up the same. I do believe the width is the only difference.
g36 monkey would know about new edge brakes. He’s done a lot with his.

They will mount up no problem after you install your cobra brackets on the new edge rear (needed unless you get a mach rear)

I had a line on a low mileage Mach rear but missed out by an hour on it. Would have been nice since it has 3.55s.

Any idea what gears a New Edge GT had? I certainly dont want to go higher than my 3.27s.

I would only be interested in 2.73s if I needed a boat anchor.

Spot on, get your cobra brackets on and everything will mount up.

Lol evilcw311 - my rear is a conglomeration of too much stuff. I barely even know what's back there. I just know I made Ford 9" brakes work haha

I bought a 03 Mach 1 rear end to go in my 97. Stock 3.55 gears. I pick it up Wednesday.

That should push the 17x9 Cobra rims right out to where I want them.
