Now i know im not the only one on here who has a kid or two. that being said, i have never attempted to put a rear facing baby seat in the stang till today... tried putting it on the passenger side but the front seat would have to be folded forward all the way! :( so, i put it in the middle and used both passenger seat belts to tie it down lol were going on a 600 mile cruise tomorrow and any immediate advice would really help. I know im probably gonna have some head punding but is this right or wrong?

last year I tried to wedge my grandson's rear facing seat in mine.
There was no other option at this point.
The passenger seat was slid all the way fwd. and placed as vertical as I could too.
My son was in the passenger seat too. Luckily the ride was only 15 minutes.
Like you, I also tried putting the seat between the 2 fronts. Didn't really work either.
The only other option would be to place the seat sideways. and that I wouldn't recomend either.
I wonder if you can fold down one the rear cushions and still be able to use the seat belt. Still NOT recomended.
good luck

with the baby seat in the middle both front seats actually go all the way back on their tracks so i might just go at it like this... hopefully i dont get pulled over and cited for it!

It's double-belted... Should be TWICE as good, right? Seriously, though- as long as you pulled both belts all the way out and ratcheted that thing in tight, and there's enough room for the seat to snap into the base solidly I don't see why it would be an issue.

This does confirm my fears that I'll have to shelve the Stang for a couple years when I start having youngins. I'm going to have to spend more time driving my Cherokee, and that means the big lift and big tires will have to shrink... :(

its always good to have an extra car.. try getting an extra cheap car like a camry. idk how, but if you can disable the passenger airbag, you should be able to put it in the front legaly.

the way you had it is ok as long as its tight and doesnt move forward. honestly, you only have to worry about the first 2 years or even sooner cuz after that, they should be able to move into a forward facing seat. the fatter your kid the faster itll be to use the forward seat so better feed him goodlol.

like they have said jus make sure both seatbelts are good and tight, there should also be a spot on that base to where the shoulder strap part of the belt can also be locked in on it to prevent it from slacking up, if its confusing i can tak a picture of mine to show you...

i had to sale my stang when my 3 month old daughter was almost here, was a good/bad situation, bad cause i had to sale the stang/ good cause i got another ford that i have always wanted since a teenager ( 04 F250) lol
