REAR gears???

i am thinking of changing my gears i am pretty sure i got 3.08s does that sound right for a 94 gt, i want to go to a 3.55 or 3.73 but i dont want to lose my gears i want to beable do redline 4th around 130 140... can anyone with those gears tell me what there shift points are or the top end in 4th

pretty sure you got 3.08's. I have 3.73's now after switching from 4.10's. YOu'll like 3.73's a huge difference from the stockers. As for the top end of fourth I've never been up that high on the street so I'm not sure but I don't think it'll be close to 130 maybe 110. Hopefully someone else can chime in to give you a for sure answer.

Just fitting a new rear axle with 3:73's [up from 2:73 :-[ ] so i'm interested in how everything is afterwards.

I have stock 3.08's and i think i can pull almost 125 in 4th right before redline. I am looking to going to a 3.55 just to give me a little more gear but also to help my highway. i Spend most of my time on the highway back and forth to work. So i need as much help as i can get in the MPG dept. I right now get about 16-17 which sucks. I had my old 95 GT Vert getting 25 on the highway on a long trip down to savannah. I would go with a 3.73 or a 3.55 if you do alot of city driving you could go to a 3.90. If you go to a 4.10 you really won't get any traction in first. I have a hard enough time with my stock gears keeping traction and i still have just about 3/32 on my tires almost 4. I have a set of bridgestone Potenza's too. so sorry for the rambling but thats my .02 cents

I have 4:10's and that makes it so the race doesn't need to exceed 100 =p

yeah i remeber the 95 GT VERT it had a auto with a 2.73 and it would hit 58 before it would kick into 2nd

I have 2:73's right now and hit 170 on the dyno in 4th gear at redline.... :lame:

I have 3:73's ready to install as one of my many winter projects.

I have 3.55s, it goes pretty much like this:

1st - 30/35mph (cant remember exactly)
2nd - 60mph
3rd - 90mph
not sure about 4th...

Got the old axle off today, got the new one in, just got to fit the half shafts and rear discs in the morning.
Had to do some work on a customers Mondeo iun between that got in my way.

mathematically, 3.27s would put you at 135 at the top of fourth assuimng you have a T45.
