ive done it many times... isnt all that bad... hardest part really s is just getting that damn input shaft into that stupid close tolerance pilot bearing..
as far as rear main seals go... depends on the engine and how ya do it.. some can be a pain some will go easily... when i did the one in my truck i just took a small punch (smaller than the seal itself) and lightly tapped it till i had enough out on the other side i could grab it with my fingers and pull it.. and havent ever had any problems with my seals leaking after i replaced them..
