The factory paint on the cobra isn't in to bad of shape. It just has that minor haze that these cars get on the paint along with minor swirls and scratches. Whats the most direct way to do it? I don't really have the cash to drop on a Porter at the moment. Just a clay bar and good wax? I intend to buff it out eventually just trying to make it better then it was. I saw the flow chart, I will definitely jump to it oneday but not right now. Any way I can atleast help it some now?

if you take your time and do it right you can do really good things w/ the meguiars ultimate compound by hand, but and its a big but you can make things really bad really quick w/ it too. search around on it and you'll see what i mean, i did my explorer w/ it a few years back and was very happy.
clay bar is a cleaner only, it may add some shine from oxidation removal but its not going to do anything for swirls.

you should be able to clean up the paint quite a bit with a claybar and some decent wax. im going to recommend you Pete's 53 from Chemical Guys. My favorite wax for dark paint. Neither of those will do anything for swirls but should add gloss.

I'm just trying to get the sexiness back into the black. It's a dirt loving color but still lol
