Relieving fuel system pressure

96 GT. Started disassembly for a cam and intake swap, but failed to relieve fuel system pressure before hand. How big of an issue is this? Is there another way to do this?

Use the schrader valve to relieve the pressure and be done with it. Disconnect the battery first and leave it that way while working. That'll be the last thing you connect. If worried, pop the inertia switch if installed and no more pump.

Yep, just cover the Schaefer valve with a rag and press the center. Pressure gone.

You are talking about the Schader valve on the fuel rail, correct?

Depending on how long it’s been sitting, the pressure is probably bled down already.
