Im gonna be installing Hooker Longtubes soon and i wanna remove the smog pump. Should i just run a shorter belt or should i get one of those idler pulleys that go in place of the pump? ANy tips and tricks to remove it?

Thanks guys.

its up to you what you wanna do, its not uncommon for people to just runa shorter belt, but if your gonna do that you might as well get the full weight benefit and remove it altogether. I have a smog delete pulley and since my A/C went bye bye im just going to run a shorter belt and sell the pulley delete. if you do a search you can find the right belt size, i think it might be 89" if im not mistaken? Rycleff knows so does paul im sure

I ran mine without the delete pulley. everything worked great for the couple months I had that setup. I put in a delete pulley though when I installed a vortech so I could route my belt a little better. either should work just fine.
