Did a search and came up empty...

I've heard that the amps must be by-passed for an aftermarket radio deck, is that true? If so how exactly do you do that? Is there a harness that can be purchased?

its easy to do. I show a little about it on page two of my cardomain page, ride 2395420. It depends on which deck you get and the output of it but there are a few different ways to do it depending on what you want.

I just ran all new speaker wires from my aftermarket head unit to the speakers for now, once I get a 4 ch amp I will run preamps to the amp then tie in to the speaker wire I already ran

fust an fyi you do not need to run wire if you do not want to. The factory wiring is just fine and already ran if you know where to look.

Got the radio in last night, no big deal. used the black and gray connectors on the side, not the ones that hook into the back of the radio. I guess that bypasses the amps?

one more question though, I am NOT changing speakers out, so is there any benifit of running the RCA conversion on the small black connector on the back of the Mach460 unit? Will I have any better sound quality? I'm assuming that runs the sound through the factory amps again.

BTW its a Pioneer DEH-4200UB if that means anything to ya'll sterio gurus.

ah no, if you only plugged into that hrns then it is only driving the tweets.

If you didn't notice the lack of bass from the loss of the sub then we have bigger problems. It should have been obvious that it they were not working with no bass and the only speakers playin is a 2.5" speaker

i dont run a lot of bass anyway, but the tweeters, door speakers and the rear deck speakers were all putting out sound, regardless, i've got the rca conversion harness ordered.

you will probably need a line driver as well, the factory amps like a high output voltage that most decks do not put out. Each location has a 5 x 7 woofer and a 2.5 tweet. it sounds like just the 2.5's are playing which would mean NO bass at all and probably pretty bad sound in general

i only ran the speakers long enough to make sure they were operating, and there were commercials on the radio, i'll check it again tomorrow.

I'll do some research on that I'm not much of an audio guy. Thanks
