for the control arms you will need jack stands, Jack, socket set, possibly a crowbar and big hammer, and a spring compressor. Just make sure when you do it you only do one arm at a time. I stared with the upper then did the lower, then repeat on the other side. Jack the car up and put the jack stand on the frame. Us the jack to change the angle on the rearend so you can get the bolts out. Its is also very helpfulle if you have a second set of hands. good luck and have fun.

If your good with a jack and can let it down s l o w l y you can do without the spring compressor. Even still autoparts stores have them to rent pretty cheap. (here its just a refundable deposit so nothing). DOn't be intimidated...just do it..don't over complicate it. The lowers will look too short once you bolt them to the chassis though. JUst jack up the differential so it clocks it to where you need it to be. Alot of people don't figure that out right away.

NEVER do it without a spring compressor, even if you let it down slow it could fly out and there goes a body part.

I wouldn't recommend it to a newb but its possible...spring compressors are junk in my opinion. They have the most stored energy when their compressed. So if you lower your differential all the way to full droop before you unbolt the lowers from it you'll see their pretty much fully decompressed. The front springs are the ones I'd recommend a spring compressor for for sure. Even though I used this method on both front and back. I've actually tried to get one of the spinrgs to fly off its kinda hard.

any problems>>? how did it all go? The first time doing control arms it took me like 3 1/2 hours. The last time we did it on my buddy's car in an hour and a half. You probably ran into stuff this time but next time it'll be smooth sailin.

If you have a length of chain you can wrap that around the spring and lower arm and couple the ends together as a "fail-safe" if the spring were to pop out it would stay attached to the lower arm. I use a legth of chain about a foot long with a removable link on the end..... peace of mind while working. STAY SAFE!
