If your good with a jack and can let it down s l o w l y you can do without the spring compressor. Even still autoparts stores have them to rent pretty cheap. (here its just a refundable deposit so nothing). DOn't be intimidated...just do it..don't over complicate it. The lowers will look too short once you bolt them to the chassis though. JUst jack up the differential so it clocks it to where you need it to be. Just make sure when you do it you only do one arm at a time. I stared with the upper then did the lower, then repeat on the other side. Jack the car up and put the jack stand on the frame. Us the jack to change the angle on the rearend so you can get the bolts out. Its is also very helpfulle if you have a second set of hands. good luck and have fun.
