Yea, I broke my whore in on the dyno.....twice lol. First time had crank walk, rebuilt the bottom end, and threw her on the dyno again ;p

lol, the car has been away for a little while, so I didn't even want to think about posting anymore, I was so tired of it. Long story short, the first engine build had to be redone completely. I also upgraded intake manifold, got rid of cats, and had Ed Curtis grind me a custom camshaft. It's all coming together this week and going on dyno. Should have results soon. The cam is speced out for under the curve power, where it matters the most for a car like mine, so I don't expect a high number on the dyno, but I do hope to see a flat torque and power curve.

I'm glad to hear you're still alive and going strong with your build. It was one of my inspirations! Sorry to hear about the troubles with the build but I know you'll get it right. Especially with Ed's help. Hopefully you'll stick around and not leave again!! Keep us posted on the progress, or at least me via PM.

awwwwwsome. :) itd be awesome to hit an event with a brand new power plant!

have you decided which method youll be using to break in your engine?

I don't understand the engine break in shit man .... Seat the rungs and depending on cam you may have have to rev it at 2k for like 10-15 mins other then that balls to the wall is how it goes

Pretty much what I did. My issues with my first motor build were very deep though. I ended up switching shops, and even that shop ****ed up on the cam selection when they went through it all. 3rd cam is the charm.

Yeah engine building it seems is something that you really have to have faith in the builder that they did everything right. One small mistake like the wrong cam and your blowing shit up.. Goodluck with the new engine man hope it works out for you

Glad to see this car is still around, still one of my all time favorites and big inspiration for my car. Doesnt hurt that it's the fastest color either.

from what i understand, engine break-in is pretty much opinion-based pseudoscience. Many people prefer your route of 10 minutes of oil-time + balls to the walls to seat the rings. Others prefer the half-hour of oil-time + constant oil changes for the first 3,000 miles. I was just curious which route ReplicaR took :)

damn brotha. glad you finally got it all figured out. damn.

Lost some torque, but gained power and range. Power is almost the same. The dynos are xe282hr, cats, edelbrock manifold vs fti cam, no cats, tfs-r manifold.
