So, as you know my cobra r rim is bent and doesn't hold air because of the huge pot holes in chicago.

Now, Im going to order a new Cobra R rim tomorrow and its saturday which means it wont be here till like Thursday of next week.

Now, i have a 5 spoke stock 245-45-17 rim in my garage with an tire unmounted. I can put this tire on the passenger back end of car but my car will lean because the driver side has a 275-40-17 which is bigger.

So will this cause problems? I know it will look ugly and lean big time, but will it cause any mechanical problems?

Cliff:

Car has 245-45-17 rims on front
Back end of car has 275-40-17

- One of 275-40-17 is going to be removed for an 245-45-17 till late next week.

Will this cause any problems??

they are pretty close, but you could potentially burn up your rear dif.

Well, i know i cant put a stock rim on a 275-40-17 tire.. thats a huge tire.

Well, im assed out because i cant find any place that has a cobra r rim locally LOL and i cant drive my only car with the donut for 6-7 days straight.

put the 275/245 on the front, and the two matching 245 in the rear.

Good thinking. The front will lean like im an really really overweight man when im really a skinny tree limb. :hammer:=] :coolsmiley:

Guess i can do this. Simple thinking sometimes gets the best of me.

thanks :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Im just waiting for someone to put a picture of my car on the internet calming its the next RICE cool thing :coolsmiley:

Well its been done and it looks like a v6 from behind for sure now. I mean i dont have tail pipes/tips and that makes it worse.. worser than a v6 :hammer: I need some 315's back there to help the no tips look. Oh well atleast i can drive again. I dont know how some people upgrade there rim tires to 255's or something... its so puny.

Thanks for the help guys. :dancing6: :coolsmiley:

I have 245s in the front too...lol

245 is the best for the front i think. Looks wide enough when turned and doesn't attack the grooves. I had 275's all around and the 275 looked like it budged out the fender walls to much.

they are a bit small for my 9 inch rims though. I will be going to a 275 when I need tires.

275s look good on the edgers, our fender flare out more... those "rounders" need to stick with the smaller tire.

Havent seen 275s on a 99+ yet. BTW, what size tires does a 99+ GT come with? I think my friends stock car looked like it had wider tires than 245's on the back.

I ment they look puny once you get use to your car having something bigger than 245 or 255 on the rear. Like heres mine with stock 245's all around:

Years ago when it was stock 100 % from exhaust to air filter lol:its a bad picture but you can tell the 245's dont budge past the rear fenders/bumper much to give the wider look most people love.

and with the 275's
