Rims

im looking into rims and have a few questions. i am between 17" bullitts in 17X10.5 or 18" saleens, either 10 or 10.5 " rim (i know theyre mostly 18X10, but there are 18X10.5)

1. eventually, i want to add a bigger break setup. what is the limit on brake sizing with a 17 inch rim? i assume most kits with 13" rotors will work..

2. anyone with 18" rims use 315 tires? this is what i want to run but there dont seem to be many 315 tires for 18 inch rims. just checked tire rack and they had very few compared to tires for 17 " rims. anyone know of any other places with more 315X18 tires?

3. is it any harder to get a 315X18 tire to fit than a 315X17?

You will have a wider range of tire size in the 17's. The 18's tire sizes will cost more.

They are 18x10.5 saleens,i cant remember where to get them (replicas)

1.Yes,the smallest you can use on a 13" brakes set up is 17" rim.

2. Nitto,BFG and some other make 315 for 18" rims but some are Drags.
as for 17" sumitomos and a few other brand carry 317 for 17" rim

3. It just depends what kind of money you want to spend.

yea, so far everything you said is what i found so far. guess you cant have it all. i really like the 18" saleens, but will probably just go for a 17 now. :dontknow: dont want to have to run drag radials all the time.

I had 18s and they look great and handle great...but other than that everything else is a con.

Theyre heavier usually, tires cost more, less sidewall= less traction

yea, thought about that too but really want to go with a 315 tire, just a weird thing of mine.

btw, anyone know what rims these are :

its on a red SN with the terminator conversion towards the bottom of the page. they look a little different from the usual chrome bullitts i see, almost looks like they have an extra lip on them. i really like these a lot and would like to find out exactly what they are if anyone knows.
