Been down a similar road myself... ultimately it is how I got into the gts I have now. Sucks, but like everybody else has said, cars can be replaced, glad no one was hurt.

Sucks man, glad you're ok.

Look at it as an opportunity though....

Perfect time to upgrade into a Mach, or Gt, Or Terminator lol

I know you wanted to do big things with the v6 but you know how shitty that road could be

She had "witnesses" show up about 20 minutes after the accident. The guy goes "well, everyone over there (her side) stories match up."

All I can think is "well yea, it's easy to solidify a lie when it takes two hours for the highway patrol to show up"

If the FHP wasn't full of ****ing idiots (even by cop standards) I'd have a tough time believing this.

Was there anyone there besides yourself that can verify your story and the fact that her witnesses showed up well after the accident. Any way you can document it?

Also, tell me you've been on the phone with a lawyer since this happen. Please, tell me you've done that.

Im so sorry to hear that Jeremy... Lost my first mustang in a similar fashion, except in my case the offending party fled the scene.

I am glad you are ok, the car can and will be replaced.

Keep on keepin' on brother...

To answer some questions:

I do believe the engine is salvageable, but I will not be completely sure until I have it pulled out. However, here's where we have another wrench thrown into the plan.

The insurance adjuster came out today for my car. He is looking, and explains he can only value it at a 99 v6 mustang with a rebuilt motor and transmission. However, if her insurance has to cover it because we manage to prove she is at fault, they have to cover everything, including the brand new paint, etc.

So now, I will be hiring a lawyer in an effort to defend this to the T. I'm not out to make tons of money, I don't care about that. I want something equal. She hit me, then hit a pole at the corner of the intersection, then continued 30 feet past that pole. The pole has studs and nuts holding it to a concrete slab, she launched a cover off of one of those nuts about 90 feet out. I have pictures off all of this.

I went and investigated today. She makes no attempt to brake, at all. She makes no attempt to swerve. And the more my passenger and I think about it, the more I think her headlights were not on. They were off after she hit me, and she was also in a mustang, so she had to manually turn them on or off.

Garrett. Do not blame yourself for this. Do not do that. It's not worth it. I can build another car. I have wrenched my entire life. I can do it. Sure I'm upset, but it could have been much worse.

Right now I'm probably going to have to get a civic or something as a beater, since I can't really touch my car until all of this is settled. I can then open it up, and swap the drivetrain into something that doesn't run, or sell it all and start something else, though I really wanted to finish my goal with the 6. Then I can move on to the next one.

No attempt to do anything about not hitting you huh? sounds like grounds to sue.

Wow glad you and no one else was hurt. Would have beena perfect time to have a gopro mounted in your car when it comes to he said she said stuff. If you have a lawyer look into it look into her phone records. If she ran the light she may have been texting.

Really hope you'll at least be able to get some of the value of your car back. To just get the value of a 99 v6 is not even close.

RIP to stroker sixxer, glad you are ok. I pray every time I drive, and when I take mine out because you just can't control outside circumstances. I hope you get another one and make it 100x better then the last one.

I have a very solid plan for the next one. As far as this story goes, my insurance got back with me today. If they pay out because i'm faulted, I get a whopping $4329.52. Then a $250 fee to buy back plus buyback value.

Sure, It could get me close to a new one, but nowhere near as nice. So, its time to fight.
WhiteStallion94 , there was another witness, we are doing all we can to track him down since no one thought to get his info.

G36, glad you're alright dude not trying to sound like a broken record player but the car is replaceable and a life (two in this case) are not replaceable.

They'll pay up you just need to fight it out with your lawyer! Make sure you show them every single receipt and invoice you have for the car at some point they'll have no choice even if it's half of what you've put into it they're going to pay. If they decide they're only going to pay you for 99 V6 value you need to have your lawyer look into suing them for bad faith.

If your heavy into the sixxer platform go with it, but my buddy in NJ is selling mach 1 roller for a fair price he had it for 2 years. You could probably save up for 4v block and get into the V8 scene. It has nice cage and super clean body.
