Ok I am following the crane cams adjustment procedure but when i get to zero lash it is taking like 3 turns to get to the torque setting. Now my question is, they say to shim the pedestal to take out the amount of turns to get there but thats just going to raise the rocker higher requiring more turns to reach the torque setting.

Im super confused here.

Or am i taking it wrong? should i spin it to torque setting then get 1/4 turn?

Help clear this up

the heads are stock e7 heads untouched. As for pushrod length I put the stock size 6.272" hardened pushrods in but i have a pushrod length check tool.

The directions seem ass backwards to me. If you can turn it more than 1/4 turn to 1 turn to reach correct torque why would you shim the pedestal and raise the rocker? If you cant turn it more than 1/4 turn to reach proper torque setting, why would you install longer pushrods?? Doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

Also the setup is this:
stock 5.0L HO, Stock untouched E7 heads, B303 cam, Scorpion 1.6 pedestal mount roller rockers

Should i be using longer pushrods? I have the stockers (6.272") and cannot reach torque setting til 3 turns or so.

Stick your stock pushrods in, while tightening the rockers to torque, check for zero lash. If you get to zero lash and have more then 1 turn before final torque is achieved, then the pushrods are too long, and can be compensated with the shims that come with the rocker kit. If you cannot adjust to zero lash before 1 full turn with the two of the provided shims (.030 and .060 for a total of .090), then your pushrods are too long and you will need an adjustable pushrod to measure for correct length. Found this hope it helps
