In the latest hotrod magazine, an article called cam science. Their recommedations for a 1.6 to 1.7 is a shift of the power band by about 500 rpm's. Their is minimal in horsepower increase just where it's at in relation to the power band. Hope this helps.

over 1.6's i think it adds about .010 - .012 lift

this is incorrect. It's a ratio, you cannot give an amount of lift it increases.

so what would the ratio be?

Instead of 1.6 x the base lift of the cam it would just be 1.7 x the lift. A cam with a base lift of .200 with stock rockers would be .320 but on 1.7 it would be .340. If you took a base lift cam of .300 though the lift difference gets much bigger. 1.6=.480 1.7=.510

Is that what your asking? If you already know that sorry haha.

Good example 5.0wned.

Here's two dyno comparisons between 1.6 and 1.7 rockers:

I was just looking at that, the chart on the left shows an increase in HP, where the one on the right shows the 1.6 rockers producing more HP than the 1.7's

30 thousandths is the difference...

stock 1.6 lift on a GT cam is .444

1.7's on a stock cam is .474

Only way I found out was I called Rick Anderson to find out what AFM cam he liked with my setup.

It's not always 30 thousands though is the point. If the stock cam with 1.6s is .444, then with 1.7 rockers it will be .472
