I went to go put the mufflers on today and was surprised when I picked it up to hear something inside of it. After a little bit of shaking/inspecting I was able to get a fair amount of rust scale to come out. Anyone else ever had this? The outside looks great but judging by what I poured out idunno about the inside. I would like to try and keep these running as long as I am not even sure i can get the same side exhaust mufflers anymore. I was considering putting cider vinegar into them and let it sit for a couple of days unless someone has a better idea?

Laminated metals so they form better are notorious for easy rusting. Probably be best just to replace. Hopefully the mufflers are still made

there are no holes in the metal at this point so I can't say I agree its time for replacement but I will be keeping my eyes open on for a replacement set for sure.

after another look at the mufflers the metal easily gives with only light pressure by my hand and I can see now along the welds where it looks like its starting to go through. They do still make the mufflers and I was surprised to see they advertise a lifetime warranty so I emailed them to see if I could get these replaced under it. If not I am going to use a vacuum on one side and my compressor on the other to blow out what I can and slap them on for now. If they will not replace them then I will buy a new set so the modifications I made with my cut outs can stay.
