So I'm waiting for my trak lok kit and master install kit to get here for our 3.73s, and I'm about to order my speedcal, but I heard mentioned on one of my other threads if I take an S spring out of an F 150 and put it into the differential on the Mustang it will make the trak lok tighter?

What year F 150 would this have to be out of? I have some friends at a Ford dealer that can hook me up on that part.

Thanks!

also, does anyone know of a detailed walkthrough of doing a rear end swap? I'm doin the gears, and all bearings and seals. My neighbor has all the tools and my friend is a ford mechanic so I will have them help me, but I'd like to have something to read before hand.

Would that mean I need to order up another rebuild kit to double them up? I'm very happy with how the rear end functions right now, but I am rebuilding it because it will all be out anyway to swap the gears...

anyone let me know on the spring, because I think it's like $15 and if it makes it better at all its worth it to do while it's torn down.

If it came with an 8.8 and a trac loc....you can use the spring. You can swap out the entire diff also and upgrade to 31 spline axles (the F-150 diff is 31 splines).
