you will need to energize the ignition wires while it is cranking, and power the accesory wires afterwards. What did you all wire up and please don't ask us how to bypass your clutch if you have one.....

why would i want to bypass my clutch? thats retarted.... i have the s2000 button which you only use 3 prongs.... one i wired to a constant power under the dash, i beleive it was a yellow wire... the other wire into what i read somewhere was the ignition wire...green/pink... and the 3rd prong went to a ground.... didnt work

now I assume that you are going to be using the key to energize the ignition/accesory circuits and just want the button to hit the starter wire when you want to crank it over? Do you know how much current that button can hold? I am unsure if it is supposed to energized the starter wire or just a relay that hits the starter wire....

first we need to figure out the switch. By taking your multi meter and setting it to ohms we can see which 2 of the contacts are switched. Put one side of the meter to one terminal and one side of teh meter to another terminal. Push the button a couple of times and see if the impedence goes from open(often displayed as 1-----------.--) to showing a short or near 0 ohms. If you get nothing from the first 2 terminals then swap one side of the meter for the other terminal and repeat.

The 3rd terminal should be to light up the switch, and will either go to a ground or constant. unfortunatly we do not know if the switch is made to switch a + or a ground but we will find out when we get it to light up. Try grounding the 3rd terminal and then connect power to the other side, if nothing happens then reverse it, you can probably test all of this with a 9v battery the light will just not be as bright. When you get it to light up, then test the terminal that we found to be common with the terminal above to see if it is sending a + or - signal to start. I would imagine it will send a ground, which means you will need to wire a relay but we will cover that bridge when we get there.

i am in virginia for school. cars in the garage in boston so i cannnot test anything right now... i know you use 3 prongs off the back of the switch...output...power...and ground if that helps... i assume output is to a wire that starts the car... power to a constant when the key is turned.. and ground to a ground...but that didnt work for me (assuming all went well)

read that again and tell me what it means...

That switch is probably not made to handle the 30-40amps that your starter can take and will need to go to a relay. Do the tests like I said and after that we can figure it out.

Plus if you also have a relay you have compounded the complexity & the possibilities for making a mistake! I'm sure you will NEED the relay for this load...but you will now have to understand what the relay contacts are either Normally Open or Normally Closed.... plus which are the coil wires! Be patient & don't get upset, it is not as bad as it may sound.

Test & see if you have power going INTO your pushbutton then is it going out from the pushbutton when it is pressed? Be sure the ground is really making good contact too. if that is cool then it is not getting to/through the relay to the starter. Go test WHEN you can! then get back to us...not much help possible until we get more data. Good luck

i believe the ignition wire you want to run off is either tan& yellow or grayand yellow cuz one of them is constant.
