Well, I was holding off to getting my car back in my tuner's hands due to excessive heat here in NJ, and it seems as if its starting to cool down a bit. I scheduled to bring my car to him September 12th. Heres what will be getting done...
1) First off, we need to figure out if my computer is telling my converter to unlock, or if my converter is slipping and I need a triple disc. The tuner I previously had my car to told me it was the converter, but the guy I'm bringing it to now feels its the computer and wants to play around with it before I loot out the cash for a converter.
2) If it is indeed the computer unlocking the converter, then we will start fresh and tune the car up to a higher rpm, hopefully 6300-6500 and we'll see where I stand. Hoping for 540rwhp through the auto.
3) Then, we will start tuning with the meth setup (AIS tri nozzle setup with 50/50). I would be happy to be 580rwhp on the meth.
If all of this can be accomplished, I think I may pretty much be done with the motor. The ONLY other thing I have been contemplating is upgrading my SI to a JT/YSI. Right now I'm spinning it just below its max impellar, but thats only up to 5800rpms. If the car will pull to 6300-6500, then I will be overspinning it a good bit. So, we'll see what she'll do!
Or, I could just get a call an hour after brining it to him...confirming the converter is shot and then over the winter I'll have to get a converter and get it tuned yet again. Fingers crossed the converters okay!
