Hey all, most of you know my build:

4.3 Stroker with a .500 lift cam and ported heads and intake and the windstar upper intake.

I keep getting a check engine light, and its P1309

The most likely cause of this is the crank position sensor, then the cam sensor, then the cam sensor being misaligned, then the pcm.

If I change the crank sensor, it usually works for about a month, then it throws the code again. If I put another sensor on, it works for a while.

I am on the third one and am debating going to get a Ford sensor to check and see if the problem is shotty aftermarket quality.
I am really hoping it isn't the PCM.

Any help is appreciated guys.

That's a tough one. Are they taking the sensors back when they go bad on you? I wonder if there is a way to 'bench test' them.

Only certain people in the store will take them back, the main manager refuses and says they aren't bad, however the light will go away for quite some time.

I am sure glad you chimed in though.

I just can't get this thing nailed, and I am one of those people that hates a check engine light.
