So...

I got my car done!!

Drove her home, couple little problems, nothing huge.

We changed the oil three times, and it got better as we did it, no coolant in oil. Good oil pressure etc..

Oh and we figured out why we had no oil pressure. Two plugs on drivers side werent plugged in.. :angry7:

I am having my fan light kick on, car never got hot though, I was driving 50mph+, heat on too as it worried me..got it home, temp was fine, but the fans not kicking on. Not sure why, everythings plugged in from what I can see :dontknow:

Theres a slight ticking/knocking coming from the drivers side..I know im a quart of oil low, so hopefully thatll change that. Maybe everything just needs to settle in.

We couldnt figure out the dipstick tube situation either..we jerry-rigged something to prevent it from coming out...so Ill either pay a ford dealership to put one in, or get a lokar one. whichever is cheaper.

Cars kinda doggy, I have a broken downstream O2 sensor..so I still need to..

Fix exhaust leak (broken gasket, pass side by manifolds)
Fix fan situation
Change oil again
Get a downstream 02 sensor

Other than that, she sounds good, needs a tune, has a little trouble idling, never died on me though.

HOpefully that noise will go away with another quart or so of oil, gonna start running synthetic soon.

Feels good. Was very paranoid on the drive home, but its just how I am. :p

The noise from the motor is worrying me the most, its not loud loud..hopefully its just needing some more oil, and needs to get adjusted with the new heads.

I mean we turned the motor over by hand several times, had no interferance whatsoever, so idoubt its PTV stuff..

I didnt even get on it at all, its pretty doggy..that broken o2 sensor is having a lot to do with that im sure. heh.

plus a lack of a tune. lol.

as for the sound, im sure its not PTV. you would have MAJOR issues if it was.... id add oil, see if that helps, then look into maybe your injectors going out.

did you replace the spark plug threads when the heads were out of the car? not a big deal, but once you start MAJORLY modifying the car, those tend to pop out :p check to make sure one of your plugs isnt backing out.

hahahahha SCORE!!! lol. i will admit to those push-rod lovin' sumsabitches... the 5.0s do sound better than the 2v 4.6s... nice compliment. that bump in compression ratio must have really helped! :-D

I wonder if using 10w-30 instead of 5w-30 would cause that noise..just paranoid..im sure everythings fine..

And that downstream o2 sensor would cause perforamce issues right? Because it felt pretty doggy.

so the fan not kicking on..could it be something to do with the second coolant sensor? I have a green one on, and a tan one, I tapped that sensor in..is it the wrong sensor??

for the fan yeah it could be the coolant sensor. im not sure of colors, i just re-used my old ones. worked fine.

for the ticking, both cars i PI swapped have had valvetrain noise for the first maybe 1k miles. dont worry to much about it unless it starts to get loud, and you'll know what i mean if it does.

i would advise when you change the oil next to get some Lucas oil stabilizer and add that. just one quart of that, and add one less quart of oil so you dont overfill. usually that stuff will quiet down the break-in period. run that oil for 2-300 miles before you really get into it. then go ahve it tuned asap after your break-in miles.

good job to btw, i know you'll like it.

i dont agree with the lucas oil stabilizer, but to each his own. the rest of the advise sounds pretty good. Im sure that oil stabilizer wont harm your motor if you use it temp., but dont use it every oil change.

Cant the lash adjuster make noise until all the air escapes??

yes, if they were compressed down they can make noise until they are pumped back up and being short on oil doesn't help.
