Which would be the best way to go. I so want a 5speed really bad, I am not sure about a shift kit. I have never drove something with one in it.

X2 I'm in the same boat as you. My car has a shift kit already but I really want to do a 5 speed swap. I've never driven an auto without the shift kit but it seems to help

I'd actually go the opposite way. I like drag racing alot and am putting together my car for street/strip. Even though I like 5-speeds, I wouldn't mind having an auto.

There is just something I like about a 5spd, I love shifting gears and be in control

I never want to own an automatic performance car.

have you ever been in a 500 hp stalled auto with a nice valvebody?

its an awakening experiance...lol dont knock it to you try it

Auto's are great for straight line performance but arent really optimal for anything else.

Lol my buddy has a '68 coupe with a 408ci (699hp) and a C4. I love how it puts you in your seat, no denying that :D

Keep looking I've seen low mileage trans go for a lot cheaper. Keep your options open.

I got real tired of 5 speeds not taking my abuse so i went with a mild auto but i tend to drag race alot more then anything else.
