Went outside to get in the mustang this mornin and notice my driver door partially open and the rear quarter window busted. I was so pist, bastard took my radar detector, used a screw driver to try to pry my stereo out, but couldnt get it out, so he just broke it trying so hard. he got in my trunk n stole some tools i had, you know the usual "repair it on the side of the road" kit. PD got some prints but its hard to say since my car hasnt been washed in almost a week. Also am i wrong but i thought the stock ford anti theft alarm would have picked that shit up and went off? Oh and i called Safelite auto glass they want 906.98 to replace it and soonest is tues. they are higher than giraffe arse. got a replacement for 127 out the door. sorry for the long post needed a vent lol

anti theft system is useless on 94-98's. The only thing it will do is keep the car itself from being stolen, the alarm is just a decoy.

and I'm sorry to hear bro. Granted I didn't get anything stolen, one of my coworkers backed into my roush leaving the parking lot last week... they're paying for it but damn I was pissed.

That sucks.. sorry to hear that.. Safelite might have wanted to charge that much because you might have to remove the B-pillar to get to the
window? I'm not sure, but either way, you got it for cheaper..

I would have if my coworker didn't tell me what happened. she came in all teary eyed and sad, my stomach sank because I knew what happened, but, I mean, I have a really good friend in the paint business, he's only charging her cost of materials which is about $100, vs. the $1k she would have to pay. I think it also helps that she's hot and my paint guy is looking to get something extra hahaha. It was the rear bumper anyway so it's really not a huge deal, if it were 1/4 panel shed be suckin my nuts in the parking lot LOL

I've had my cars busted into 3 times. Twice in a 91 Probe I had. First time it happened was in NH. They bust out my driver side window, stole my head unit and took a giant book of over 100 cds I had sitting in the back (mostly very obscure and eclectic stuff they probably ended up chucking). Second time was at a movie theater in OH. Again, busted out the window and stole the head unit (this was before detachable head units became common place). Theater manager apologized profusely... like that helped.

Third time my car got busted into was at an apartment complex with my current 96 GT. I have the factory head unit in there still, and kept the doors unlocked which was fortunate... meant they didn't have to bust any windows out. They rifled through my glove box and center consul but took nothing of value except a cheap pair of 6 dollar aviator sunglasses. About 5 or 6 other cars in the complex were broken into that night with far worse results.

Lessons learned... cops can do almost nothing about people busting into your car. Keep nothing of value in your car. Keep your crappy stock head unit or get a detachable... and probably not advisable to most... kindly keep your doors unlocked so idiots don't bust out your windows while they're rooting around.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I keep my windows tinted pretty dark and have a good alarm system with a two way and a proximity sensor. Even if I chose to leave my windows down (which I dont) it will go off. Not fool proof but its okay.

I think I want to make a car alarm so that when they break into my car they get aids or herpes or some incurable horrible thing. So basically the price of my oakleys is, HIV positive. Bio warfare biches

I have a feeling you'll like this:

If it could be adapted to stop break-ins rather than car-jackings, you're set.

That's a good point. I've seen some sort of app(?) for smart phones or maybe just the iPhone, not sure. But it was at Best Buy and it I guess does the whole satellite live feed type thing so you can lock/unlock/auto-start and I'm assuming keep tabs on alarm as well. I didn't look at it that close because I don't have a fancy phone and it was a couple hundred dollars.

Why? So they can steal a slow ass 96 GT? Like they couldn't bust out the windows and do the same thing.

I've found that tinted windows make punks think you got something to hide. Both times my windows were broken they were tinted dark.
