depends on your budget. if budget minded grab some PI cams and a PI manifold, those 2 mods ALONE on a boosted nonPI will give you another 50whp or more. definately the best bang for buck after the blower.
dont worry about dyno numbers, honestly, putting down 175-185 stock through the auto, bolting on the vortech out the box will give you ATLEAST 260 which is 90WHP gain. how can ANYBODY complain about that??? i've seen 260whp cars go mid 8s in the 1/8th mile with stock converter and trans, you aint getting any better than a 9.4 bone stock through the auto.
i dont have any experience with ATI/procharger, but from what i see they are right there with vortech in performance, but reliability isnt proven like vortech. the paxton NOVI is probably the best street blower out. vortech is proven to perform and be VERY reliable. cant go wrong with the paxton or vortech, vortech is a good bit cheaper so obviously its more popular.
yes its a good gain but kinda embarssing in todays performance world, 260rwhp in a supercharged v8 gt and a new 2011 v6 bone stock all motor 3.7 liter puts down 250-270rwhp lol and its alot of money to have to do a blower and then have to replace the stock motor if it goes because of boost, thats why I stopped my plans on doing a blower on my Im worried off it going boom under boost :sad5:
