side pipes or turn downs

so i am in the process of rebuilding my car from and accident. my exhaust system is SHOT from the x-pipe back. its a mixture of welded straight pipe, flex pipe, knockoff flowmasters, multiple clamps, a coat hanger, and some other misc crap. doesn't sit straight, tips are crooked, hangs SUPER LOW (scrapes on speedbumps). im looking to see if any company sells a cheapish x-pipe back set that is just turn-downs and no tailpipe(mufflers or glasspacks) not looking for super quiet, glasspacks would be loud enough.

please god whatever you do DONT do a glass pack. pick up a set of cheap 40 series flows (you can find them for around $40-50 used for the set) along with a cheap x-pipe that you can find almost anywhere (I would check your local craigslist for a little while and keep an eye out) and you'll love the way it sounds.

^^i have a stainless bassani x-pipe that in perfect shape. just need post x-pipe and tailpipes, but would rather go without tailpipes

and honestly (prepare for shit-storm) i like the sound of $20 glasspacks. but i dont have my heart set out on them. just looking for a simple setup. i saw a FS thread by WIN which would have been PERFECT for what im looking for.

I'm kinda against dumps even tho they sound cool. I love a nice set of highly polished tailpipes on a sn95 rear end

thats how i am. i love having a good set of tips. not to mention with dumps its like you have to take a lortab everytime you get out of the car cause it drones so damn bad! hahahah

i have dumps because i like the "bass" sound you get with a cam. but you can make your own turndowns to come off the muffler and clamp them on. and when you want tail pipes on, just swap them out. i can go from one to the other in less them 15 min .

if you want to be unique then that is what the side exhaust is for. After putting mine on 4 yrs ago and going to many many shows since then I have yet to pull into a show and have another car with it. It gets alot of compliments both at shows and at the stoplight, best mod I ever did IMO>

im thinking about doing dumps as well. i have to get my exhaust fixed because when idling it hits the frame of my car on the passenger side.
how much would an exhaust shop charge to do that? anyone know a rough estimate?

later, i might switch to a different catback with bigger tips, as i dont like the small 2.5" stock ones.

I think you are talking about where the exhaust goes over the axle. It shouldn't cost to much I'd only charge prolly around 20-40 bucks to do it because I can usually fix that on my lift in like 15 mins.

you can make them yourself for 12 bucks. maybe 15 with clamps.
