Since i have been around for a while and mostly lurking I figured i would start a build thread for my bucket. First things first, My Budget motor Build. My dad and i ported the heads, He has been porting before i was born, and i am 25 if that says anything about his skills. The rest of the parts i have acquired for the build have either been through trades or super deals. My total invested in the build is 1500 I have done all the work myself with help from my father. I apologize for the ****ty pics my digital camera died.
A pic of the reworked combustion Chamber. The Spark Plugs will be indexed as well when i assemble the motor.
Pic of the intake port from the valve side
Intake runner side on the port
And the Exhaust ports, there wasnt much they needed other then a bunch of valve shrouding removed and a ton of polishing
Header Side of the port
Valve side of the port
Sorry for the blurryness of the pics all i had was my cell phone to snap the pics. I will post some more pics of the ports and the cleaned up chambers tomorrow
Now for the rods and pistons. I Went with Forged I beam Rods and Probe 10.5cc dish pistons. These pistons should yeild me roughly 10.5:1 Compression, and the rods should be good till around 600whp. Also i got bored so i polished the connecting rods
I also have a set of manley Nextek Valve springs and a pair of comp XE270AH cams for the motor and an edelbrock Victor JR intake
I am going to adapt my MAC tb and plenum to work with this intake. That leaves us at today, the short block is ready to be assembled . I am still debating whether i wanna chase down a teksid block or not. When all is said on done my goal is to make 320ish whp on motor and 500+ on the bottle. Here are a couple pics of the timing cover that i painted crinkle black, my ford racing head gasket swap kit(it was the most cost effictive way to get head gaskets and bolts) and my new trickflow timing components
Also i have been acumulating other misc parts for the rebirth of my car, I purchased a Inovative LM-1 DB Blue digital Air fuel ratio gauge and a Blue digital nitrous gauge.</div><div>
I got a wild hair up my ass one day a couple months ago after i broke another shift fork at fontana dragway and decided to pull the motor and trans. I also decided to paint the engine bay black while the motor was out
I have also purchased a battery relocate kit and a push pull on off switch for the car, but i have not snapped any pics of them i will take some in the next couple days. In the next couple weeks i am gonna be busting ass turning wrenches on the car. I am planning to push to have it all done and racing in march.I will post another update when i get home tonight or tomorrow with the pics of my new suspension components and transmission.
