So I've got this friend who somehow knows a guy who lives in PA. He talks to her and another one of my friends (who is also a girl) and they just randomly talk. And apparently he has a Prelude and talks about it all the time and how fast and stuff it is. It was kinda funny at first so I decided to call him out on all his claims today. It all started because he said he has wheelspin at 125mph when he shifts into 5th. Mind you his Prelude is stock except for a "$1200 exhaust". He is going to make a video to prove this tomorrow apparently now. Then he said the car will hit 170. 170 in a stock prelude. I laughed and just to make sure, I looked up on the internet and found a couple sites that both said it tops out at around 140. So I told him and then looked up pictures of the speedo, which so happens to only go to 150. He's never had a GPS car but yet he knows it goes to 170. He won't admit he's lying and apparently he's going to prove it somehow. But whatever the case, he eventually got mad and didn't reply soooooo yea, its hilarious. I can't wait for the video, if he makes it.

FWD cars usually get wheel spin easier because it's usually an open diff and the weight transfer. that being said these guys sound hilarious, gotta love the optimism though.

i hate when people brag about wheel spin or "CHIRPING" gears as they call it here. its sooooo much easier to spin the tires while shifting through gears on a front wheel drive car, oppose to a rear.

my friend has a 2001 prelude w CAI and exhaust and he swore he would beat me in a race. im pretty much stock too besides intake and exhuast also. i raced him and i only launched at a little over 2k, on street tires, and still smoked him by like 5 cars. he said he would beat me on the highway, but hes wrong there too. he tops about 140mph. i have a 96 cobra so i dont know how he thought he could beat me. im not a fan of highway racing so i do not participate but i know i would blow his doors off.

he had a dry 50 shot of nitrous and i was waiting to race him again but he spun a bearing.

now he has this civic hatch with a frankenstien honda motor in it and he thinks he will be able to beat me soon.

one time i beat 10 hondas/ various other tuners in a row and they got so mad they went home to bring back an srt4 running like 32 lbs of boost.

they were sooo mad they couldnt beat a N/a muscle car they had to take the beast out of the cage.

I understand them spinning easier, but going into 5th... at 125mph? I can't really see that.

We keep trying to talk him into coming down and racing me. I don't know if I could beat him in the 95, but I KNOW I could whoop in my SRT4.

Oh, and did I mention he was looking at buying a $13k Del Sol with the most horrendous body kit ever and metallic green paint EVEERRYYYWWHHEERRREEE. Most horrendous slow pos I've ever seen. And he was working really hard to get the money for it.

haha spinning while going into fifth, well sounds like something a typical ricer would brag about. though, i couldnt see it happening especially on a N/A car, let alone a 4 cyl.

im sure you could beat him with the 95.

the only thing i can remember about racing him, besides looking back to see he was at least 5 cars behind, was in the start he pulled prretty hard. maybe pulled a car length in front of me, due to my traction issues. with my stock gears i was shifting into second, passing him, as he shifted into third

My 95 is tiirreeddd. 4.10s, but its still pretty slow. Iunno, I used to think it was ungodly fast because I didn't know better but it got SPANKED by a pretty built N/A civic hatch, 3 times from various speeds. Haven't really ran it against anything else. She needs a motor. :(

I used to feel the same about 4cyls as you, they're crap, slow, blah blah. But after getting stomped by the hatch and checking it ou and then getting my SRT4, I'm starting to have a bit of respect for them. Its just the stupid owners who actually don't know what they're talking about that annoy me.

I raced a bunch of ricers not too long ago, and their trophy car, a SRT4 with lots of mods wouldnt keep up with my "slow V8 car".. it was pretty funny.

A good friend of mine has a build del slow that will spin tires through second on drag radials. Call bs on it but I've seen it done more than once. In regards to this race though, I'm not sure what's done to your mustang but you should walk his car. stock h22's aren't quick. If you want some extra insurance, pick up a bottle from cl and slap it on.

A built Del Sol is a lot different than a stock one though. The same guy with the hatch that stomped the 95 bought a Del Sol to throw a turbo on and it barely has enough power to spin the tires when dropping the clutch in first. I've seen a couple nasty Sol's but the one this guy was looking was NOT one of them. Take Fast and the Furious, add a few more boxes of rice, and slap a $13k pricetag on it and you get that car.

He won't ever come down here though. If he does, he probably won't run them so it really doesn't matter either way. I'm still waiting to see if we get a video of the 125mph spin.

I was just in autozone yesterday and one of the kids behind the counter was talking about how fast his VW was. SO i asked him what it was and he said its a 2000 jetta 1.8t. I told him that i would race him in my mustang for 200 bucks. Then he asked me if i had a V8 and i said yes. So he turned around and said that i would get him off the line but he would catch me in the top end cuz he has gone 180+ in his jetta. I didnt know that jetta are faster than some corvettes? needless to say he was a dumb*** and if i do get the chance to race him im going to gladly take his 200 bucks

I dont understand why ricers are so dumb!!! I have never talked up my car like they do

My cousin was joking around with me that he would race me with his newer 1.8T when I first got my Mustang. Needless to say he was joking, it gave me a good chuckle.

My SRT4 spins the wheels when I shift into 2nd at 123mph but thats because of Chrysler's engineering of the turbo to spin that fast and so when I push the clutch, it actually turns into a Transformer and it can totally beat up your Veyron, yo. Thats true, but these other claims made by ricers are stupid.

I think I'm going to start sending him videos of guys making fun of the whole "My Vtech jus kickd in yo" crap to annoy him.

Duh09, you should tell him that your car doesnt have wheelspin, because you dont have traction issues. Take the wind out of his sails.

those jettas with the 1.8t are kinda quick. There launch kinda sucks, but pretty impressive for a stock vw. If your stang was stock, you might of had to worry, but with even a mildly modified stang you would blow him out the water, let alone a turbo.
