ALRIGHT YOU GUISE!

I GOT A FINAL PRICE FROM THE NEW SHOP.....

its going to be $1100 for a clutch job, flywheel resufaced, things like that..

as well as brake pads all the way around.

much more reasonable dont you think?

That doesn't sound to bad actually. I say go for it. At least it'll be done properly.. "hopefully".. lol

Look guys, this thread wasn't about the price to begin with. Forget about the price issue!!!!

If it has a rattle when I get it back I'm trading for a fox lol

do not for a second even thinking about owning a fox body..... you'll be doing repairs VERY VERY often on an older pushrod, not to mention the old wiring, old chassis parts... if you want reliability keep what you have....

i dont think the new price is horrible... i'd get it fixed and start saving again for mods, in 6 months you wont even regret spending the money to get it done right.

"The clutch pressure plate fingers were uneven. You can't really see it with the clutch out because the fingers all hit their up stops. A couple of things can cause this. The diaphragm spring (which the fingers are part of) could be warped, the pressure ring could be made with a high or low spot where the spring contacts it, or the clutch disc could be warped and causing the pressure ring to ride crooked.

In any case, the same fix applies to any of these problems; a new clutch."

what was told to me by my mechanic

Ya, but if you had these issues from the get go, I would have taken it back to the shop, if what they are saying is true that a manufacture defect and should have been noticed from day one...

That sounds like a viable point...

However, get an estimate and find out what theyre charging you for parts/labor...

because 1100 is still way too much...

Don't give up so easy, try to get some money back...

Like someone said, at least bring your own parts in and have 'em just do the labor... Thats gotta be even cheaper still...

I had clutch pedal pulsations for a long time. I just swapped my clutch out for a Fidanza 1.0 (did it myself), Just to see if it worked, I had an extra clutch fork laying around and swapped it in too....pulsations stopped and the tranny feels like butter.

ITS OVER!

ITS FINALLY OVER!

we took the clutch cable out at the shop and put in an adjustable one, a few pulls and turns on the adjuster, and boom!

i started the car up, put it in neutral...

completely silent.

drove all the way home with not a single vibration the entire time, and a much firmer clutch pedal!
