Does any one know if slp are louder with tips cause I have some on my car now that I just got but I have them as dumps at the moment but there really quite compared to the car I got them from with tips or and vid I have heard with tips that are screaming loud and I usually dumps are way louder then with tips. I was trying. To figure out if slp are weird like that or something

First what car did you get them off of? It depends on where you want it to be louder, any exhaust will be louder behind the car with tips, with dumps the sound just bellows out from underneath the car.
I have the same exact exhaust set-up on my red GT as I do on the Cobra. They sound completely different, I'm assuming it's because the Cobra flows more air therefore is louder.
If you yanked the LM2's off of a Cobra or a PI GT, anything that is flowing more air(more power) than you are they will most likely be louder.

Tips will just direct all the noise in a single direction, which the cars/people behind you will know you are there. I had SLP loudmouths dumped on my 94 GT and it was stupid loud, but I never put tips on it, I just took them off and went back to my normal dronemaster catback.

You have a o/r pipe or not? its makes a big difference in how much noise you make.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but if you are judging the "loudness" off of online video clips it probly appears louder with tips cuz the tips aim the noise at the camera's recording the vids whereas the dumps put the sound down and in all directions. Maybe?

Thats what i was thinking. My dumped LM1's resonate off anything and everything. I don't see how them exiting through tailpipes would make it louder, unless its to the car behind you.

For those that are clueless LM2's are powerflows. completely different muffler than the bullett style slm1's

I say go for it, one of the best sounding mufflers out there

whole setup will greatly affect the outcome. i have bbk shorties, bbk o/r xpipe and slp lm2's and mine exit to the side straight from the mufflers. my car is way louder than anything else around, enough to the point some of my neighbors dont like me anymore!!! lol

ive heard cars with lm1's that werent anywhere near as loud as mine but they exited to the rear with tailpipes. ask itsablue95, he's heard mine a few times and can vouch for how loud it is. is has an extremely deep bassy rumble at idle and isnt raspy at all. no cackling or popping on downshifts but is definately ear rattling when you push the loud pedal. ill try and get a good vid up sometime soon
