SO if you look at my paint in the sun light or bright light on the hood and anywhere that gets a lot of direct sunlight it looks like there is little pits in the paint when I look real close...What is this?>

Is this the clear coat and is there anyway to make them go away?..maybe with a deep compound>

could be the clear coat, I would try Clay Bar, Paint Cleaner, A good abrasive product, then a good quality wax. Lots of work but could do wonders.

Well...Ive done clay bar. paint cleaner/ wax...but you can still see these pits on the top of the hood in sunlight...I would imagine I need some sort of abrasive like you said...but what should I use?/

Hell I even wet sanded with 1500 in the corner of my hood to see if that helps...I think it helped a little but could still see a small hole or two..maybe I need to wet sand my hood?

My guess is that you're referring to orange peel. The only way to get that out is wetsanding but you need to know what you're doing...

is your car stock paint? if so then its prob the clear coat, its its been repainted it might be orange peel, which looks like a actual orange peel but on your paint, can usually only tell from a sharp angle. if wetsanding didnt take it out then there is no way a abrasive wax will...I at least doubt it!? If you know how to wetsand properly and its just on your roof I suggest doing that, then follow with a good detail on it after. But if your clear coat is going its just going to make it thinner which means you will start fading sooner thats the only real risk, that is if u know how to wetsand.

I believe the problem that you were referring too is known around the paint and body community as a "fish eye". When you paint a car you have to make sure the surface is free or any grease, dirt, dust, anything. Sometimes if you get a speck of pollen if in spring or dust before the paint is sprayed it will make the paint pit or fish eye. The only fix is to respray the area. If thats what it is.

you sure it isnt etched water spots?

Yea, I take care of my paint. Its pretty much engraved. I buffed my car with an o/b and it wouldnt even come out. Its hard to explain. you would have to see it in person.
