The whole american versus import thing has gotten old and very droll. My suggestion is don't care and move on with your lives.

I love a good challenge ricer, tuner, old school muscle, euro hell anything. Ive just grown to hate rice crap every since we had a town car show and all these 30s through late 70s cars showed up and a group of ricers rolled in and ruined it by causing the cops to break it up. Or at a Sonic on the main drag in Modesto a couple ricers came in and started revving and talkin all this bs for no reason at all. To me it seems its a lack of respect in some instances. thats not to say i feel when one wants to race its out of lack of respect, a race is just a race, but the thought of them being on an equal playing field is crap to me

Not really anything spectacular. If you look at it in the grand scheme of things, the my d*ck is bigger then your d*ck and I'll beat you up for it idea doesn't really come across as a well defined person. So what, someone revs up at you, drop a gear and loose them. Loosing your car is not worth it unless they bring the green. Otherwise I'll keep my sanity and very expensive car thank you very much.

in the two years I've owned THIS car, the only person that's challenged me to a race was a worked-up Supra. Only problem was he kept trying to race from a 55 roll (as he found me on the highway). I couldn't get into 2nd gear at that speed and wasn't able to start off in the powerband to pull on him before his huge turbo spooled up. If we could have at least went from a 40 roll, I probably would have taken him, but his turbo was already spooling from take-off, I had no chance.

lol, this reminds me. there's an Audi R8 a couple houses down from my girlfriends house. One night I was lucky enough to follow him out when I left my gf's pad. it was funny because we got to the main street which is just straight for about a mile and we didn't even look at each other, light turned green, we both launched (I spun the tires like crazy, he had minimal slip and absolutely raped me. but damn did that car sound good doing it lol. That was my one and only street race and I knew I had no chance but it was still funny as hell.

you can't win ever race or else you are just too pussy to challenge someone that is bigger. I will race a car that I know I will loose to, might not go online and tell all my friends but you can learn from loosing as well

lol about a week ago i just got off work, it was about 1 am, and i was eating in a wendys parking lot.

i saw about 50 ricers turn down this road and go to a race spot. i followed them, posted up fnished eating, and watched them for a while.

then i left, looped around and pulled up to the line.

i asked if anyone wanted to race and they were like AIIGHT" you wanna race that rsx (riced out) i was like yeah sure why the hell not.

smoked him by like 4 cars. then i pulled back around and lined up again. NOBODY wanted to race and everyone was dead quiet. the rsx lined up again and everyone was like yooo frank what happened man?! they were so suprised. then the guy who was flagging came up and i was like so nobody else wants to race? and he didnt answer so i had to ask again, and he just looked down dissapointed and shook his head. I LMFAO and then smoked the rsx again.

it was great, i didnt even care about racing the silly rsx, i was proud of shutting down the spot! lol

was waiting for that comment. Depends on the area as we all know of a back-road area tha if it was done correctly could be safe but I do kinda agree....

i know this whole thread is way off topic but whatever

where i live, there is no drag strip. the closest one, is too far. it would be a waiste to drive all the way there and back just for a few runs.

and bc of this, street racing seems to be very big around here. theres people who know what they are doing, and then there are people who dont, and ruin it for everyone.

for example over the weekend i went to a local spot, nothing but muscle cars and done up tuners. some of them racing for money, some racing for fun. everyone had a good time and when the cops eventually came, nobody had been racing and we all casually left. no problems.

then an example of bad street racing: i was at a spot the next day, nothing but spectators, ricers, and people in minivans and corrolas and shit. people were loud, stupid, doing donuts, drinking and smoking, acting a fool. only saw one good race, then the cops came and everybody did the mad scramble. there was a double fender bender, and a few people got tickets. not fun.

i wish there was a track around here but unfortunately if i want to see some races i have to deal with this crap.

Oh i fully agree the track is the place to go but since its 1 hr and 20 min away and only on wednesday nights for a couple months a year, and the stupid people like the mayors and city officials shut down an attempt to create a race track with the intentions of run what you brung, I dont see how they expect to see a drop in street racing. I understand this doesnt make it ok but with responsiblity and common sense risk can be dropped.

i support this post.
the closest strip is 1/8 mile, and is like an hour and a half away. the nearest 1/4 is double that. street racing is pretty big around here, but not as big as it used to be. we havent had organized races in forever, but pickup races are everywhere, and everyone knows where to go to find one and make (or lose) a couple bucks.
residents know what we're doing, and piss and moan and whine and carry on about it at city hall meetings and call the cops on us. if they really wanted to do something about the street racing, theyd build a racetrack. or at least let us hold flashlight races

track distance isnt an excuse to street race.

i understand the fact that its fun and all, but what do you gain from it?

i WHIP a 1200whp supra street racing from a dig, does that make my car faster? no, it just means i can drive or he cant... we all know his car is faster, but his car is a road race car.

on the other hand, i get whopped by a 240whp civic, whats that mean? he wont race from a dig so i cant take advantage of the ET streets i run from a roll and his power/weight is better.

see the point is, its illegal everywhere, puts bystandards in danger, puts your car at risk of being impounded/seized, and at the end of the day all you have is "a story" about how you beat a 1200whp supra that nobody will believe.

^^^^ thats not really my reasoning, but nobody wants to hear the "lost someone you loved to street racing"......
