I dont think they meant just any group of cars, but more-so regional groups of members from this message board.

yeah I know, I was just trying to show that its not as hard as it looks to get a group of people together. We got all this planned out and together in about a month. All it takes is someone picking a date and a location and just spreading the word really!

Glad I stumbled into this thread.
since I did the last calendar.... the plan is to do another 18 month Calendar from July 2010 - Dec 2011
Based on the last round, I'd figure 2-3 months to get pictures, 2 weeks to do the layouts, and plan on a month to get them and ship them back out.
I definately think it should include the 99 and 05+

I'm thinking mid Feburary we should start a thread for pictures.
What are your thoughts everyone?

ALSO FYI Everyone, last calendar I tried to include everyone's car that sent me a good pic.
not all months had a featured car in the upper page, and all the lowers had a mix of multiple member pics.

What did you'all think of the last Calendar?
after I sent them out, I didn't hear anything back....

its not that easy. the pictures you just posted are probably of a bunch of people that live relatively close to each other. In order to get a decent size group for a calender shot, in some areas you would probably have to orchestrate a group of people that would have to travel hours to meet, which would take a little more planning. You'd be looking at like Summer for this to get done, at which point the year would be half over. It would be better planning to do it for next year, or the year after.

Well that group was from a few places around NC and VA. Most drove between an hour and 3 and a half hours. Anyways, all I was trying to show was that something can be thrown together if theres actually some people interested in doing it. Even if its just 10 cars getting together, there can still be some good group shots.

Its not that hard when its NORTH CAROLINA.... Im talking about all the cars in the North East, Mid West, all the cars that are garaged right now b/c of it being winter. There's no freeking snow in NC and our roads are covered in salt b/c of recent snow storms. My point went way over your head aparently. Ask how many guys that have their cars garaged right now that live in cold snowy enviorments that want to take their cars out right now for group pics. If you find 3 I'll give you a cookie.

I liked it a lot it was very well done. I was looking forward to getting another one for this year if it could be put together. Im pretty sure everyone here that would want to be in it has plenty of pics from last summer they can submit. We dont have to get some big group pictures together. If that wants to be done then organize it this summer for next years calendar. What I liked about the calendar last year is that there were lots of close up detailed pics, w/ group pics you can hardly tell who's car your looking at b/c its a zoomed out wide angle picture. Id save a few pages at the end for group pics but keep the main features for the month as the single larger pics.

Thanks for the feedback.
I think we could definatley incorporate some group shots in the next one.

Is there anything in the works yet as far as a thread for pic submission? Would be nice to get this rolling so we can get the calendars soon since the months are ticking down.

Yes, the pictures need to be HIGH RES, and the picture needs to include some space around your car.
calendar page is somethinglike 3800 pixles, so your car pic on the forum that is 800 pixles wide will be about 2" wide on the calendar.
pictures that are cut off won't work -- and it's harder to use shots where the car barely fits in the frame.

full pages or large quarter page shots need to have a decent background.
I'll start a submission thread soon, you'll should have 2-3 months to get the pictures to me, but start thinking about it now. :)

I suppose it did get over my head that the north east and the mid west are the only two regions of the country that matter. Like I said though it was just an idea, and there are obviously other people who would like to see a couple group shots. No need to get all uptight about it there venom. However the calendar is done though Im sure it will look good. I actually think itd be a pretty good pic to see some cars from the north east or mid west on a snowcovered road. Just about every color would look good against a white snow background.

you've obviously never dealt with road salt. I daily drive mine, so the salt doesnt bother me, but when youre trying to take pictures, its a bitch and a half to keep the car clean, especially when you have to drive a distance in the process.

Actually I have dealt with road salt quite a bit. NC gets more ice than snow usually so our roads are always covered in salt if theres even just a chance of precipitation. Everything around where I live just got salted in anticipation of a storm thats supposed to hit this weekend. I understand that its not very conducive to having a clean car though. As Dalamar said though, you have 2-3 months to get pictures to him, so Im sure there will be some point during that time when you guys from up north will have a chance to get some pics of your cars

I never said those in the north east or mid west are the only ones that matter, its that your fine w/ just excluding them. I have no problem w/ group shots. DO IT IN THE SUMMER WHEN EVERYONES CAR IS OUT. The road salt issues is not b/c the cars would look dirty its b/c some of us dont want our Mustangs to rot out from road salt. My car has never see snow or salt and I plan on keeping it that way and I wouldn't go back on that just to get a group picture which would only be of mine since everyone else that lives in Maine, New Hampshire, and the surrounding states does not drive their cars in the winter other then those who daily drive it and they are prob the types that are not interested in group pictures. Not everyone that owns a mustang is an enthusiast.
