I borrowed one of my friends obd scan tools and i cleared all my codes and drove around yesterday..

as the codes started to pour i got the usaul rear 02 bank codes, which i dont care about because im going to delete my rear 02s in my next tune session. but one that popped up that i didnt know i had was the 1443 which stands for a evap canister solenoid, my car pulls when it wants to under wot. i finally got my spark plug wire problems done thanks to chris (Btw those wires kick ass bro)

anyways i replaced the evap canister solenoid already, but does anyone have any more advice as to what to replace because the code came back and the car still misses lightly.. it has mind of its own as it seems to pull hard wot one time and the next it misses around.

Check the lines (all of them) they get brittle over time and crack causing air leaks

I've gotten that 1443 code once a week since I bought this one 3 1/2 years ago. Replaced everything from TB to tank. My son says I need to do a smoke test to see where the leak is. Might be the filler neck making gas cap not flush......

Yeah unfortunately this code has about 50 million things possible to trigger it, this should be very fun.

If you want an evap canister out of a 98GT with the lines attached to it.. I got one.

PM me..

i put a brand new one on, i need the other one, that comes right off the back of the plenum. im going to start with both of those sensors,

.. as i feel im going to have to replace the entire evap system.. man i really hate this.

i'd just get the code turned off in the tune, unless thats not an option because of emissions.

the emissions problem isnt going to cause a WOT problem though.

a tune can definately get rid of the check engine light for that code though.

i had that code for awhile last year. i turned the fuel up a little (from 4% to 8%) with my sct tuner and it went away. not sure why that fixed it but no more check engine light.

In the early years of owning my 96' GT, I was plagued with that code until Randy helped me with figuring out what it is over at stangnet. You have to replace that valve, because I replaced the canister like twice and thought it was it. The part number is actually F575-14A606-BA. It's funny that this thread is up because I have the part right next to me.

That is the sensor, right? Not the solenoid...

theirs a canister that goes further to the left on the line, then theirs that, should be called a purge flow sensor.

Yup. The one thats in my hand up there is the bad one lol. They cost like nothing. And make sure the hoses are not brittle going from that valve to the canister.
