Gas recall in Illinois =[
Besides draining the fuel system what are other things to do to get her fixed up. Shes missing terribly now during idle and a lot during driving.

The car recently has been fully tuned up and this started happening after i put 87 octane in her.

The problem with the gas:
BP issued a statement Tuesday, saying the gasoline was blended at its Whiting storage terminal between Aug. 13 and 17 and contained a "higher than normal level of polymeric residue."
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...as-20120822_1_bp-stations-bp-refinery-bad-gas

What i intend on doing to fix this problem starting in this order (easiest to hardest)
Fuel Filter and MAF cleaned will be 1st.
Bottle of fuel system cleaner.

2nd if the possible still persist: Changing out all 8 spark plugs.

Is there anything else i should do in case i did get the bad gas?????

YOu do know that only premium and midgrade gas was contaminated? youlle know its the bad gas too because it has almost no oder to it and if you put some on your hands it feels like lotion and doesnt evaporate fast off ur hands like normal gas would....man if you got it, you ened a fuel system flush as that bad gas will leave a greasey material left behind it..

It was regular grade gas here and middle grade in MWK
... http://www.bpresponse.com/go/site/5207/

BP believes approximately 200 retail outlets in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area were supplied with off-specification regular-grade gasoline over the last seven days, along with 20 additional retail sites in the Milwaukee area that received off-specification premium gasoline.

BP announced Monday it was recalling 2.1 million gallons of regular grade because it contained a higher level of a residue, which could prevent vehicles from starting, make it hard to start engines, cause the engine to shake or cause the check engine light to turn on.

BP issued a statement Tuesday, saying the gasoline was blended at its Whiting storage terminal between Aug. 13 and 17 and contained a "higher than normal level of polymeric residue." The fuel was distributed at BP stations and other retailers in the last week and primarily involves regular-grade gas.

^^ Will do. Might just replace it since a new coil is $23-25 from autozone

Do you think the plugs are fine or should they be replaced?
Just wondering if the white build up on the plugs would effect the spark in anyway.

i stand corrected: and that ignition coil looks pretty bad, id check ur plugs just to be safe...

The plugs and wires aren't old. I changed everything tuneup wise expect the timing chain and ignition coil not so long ago.

But i was running 87 gas on a 14* timing for ages so im wondering if the little detonation i was having could screw up my plugs. I've been using 91-93 for a little now.

get one of those small elct grease packets at autozone and put some on before you put your wires on. Keeps that corrosion from happening. Sounds like it just needs a tune up. Check your cap/rotor as well.

Wires are fine since there new. However, the ignition coil wire is a special one and the new plugs didn't come with it so i been using the old plug. Its all corroded inside.

So this has to be part of the problem. The only thing is where can i buy this single plug with the special connector?
Its the small one that plugs into the middle of the cap and goes directly to the ignition coil.

Fixed. Lets just say im never buying the cheapest sparkplug wires at advanced auto again. $22 pair and they didn't last 6+ months :/ wth

Brought them because i was broke then and needed new wires asap. This time i brought the AutoLite plugs which are atleast a known brand ... unlike the xact brand.

Man, replace all that shit, don't stop there, cap and rotor as well. Maybe even wires, when you said it was recently tuned up, does that mean recently as in the last decade? :)

Plugs and ignition coil look horrible. I bet the ignition stuff is definitely your issue with missing at idle and part throttle. It will feel like a new car!

Clean your IAC valve while you're at it!!! You may also consider pulling your o2 sensors out and cleaning them also.
