We were in Alcoa Friday night, then on the way to run the Dragon's tail we went across Foothills Pky which runs across the top of the mountain and overlooks Alcoa. Alcoa is aprox. 2 hours from Gatlinberg. I recommend a day trip to Alcoa to Fontana Dam to run the Dagon's tail (US 129) One of the best roads for sports cars and bikes. 318 turns in 11 miles. DO IT. unless you get car sick.

Unfortunately we wont be taking the Mustang on our trip or I definitely would. Wife has back problems and can barely stand being in it for over 30 minutes. Heard many stories of the Dragon though and it sounds like fun.

Thanks for the complements on the car. The 315's did rub a couple of times as I went around a couple of the hairpin turns as the suspension was compressing and lateral G's. I don't like that sound. Guess I'll roll the fenders to fix that.
Running the Dragon's Tail sould be on every Mustang owners bucket list.
