i wasnt gonna worry about it but now its starting to bother me. i normally fill my mustang up when it gets to 1/4 tank, it only fills up to right under full tank, but it only takes like 6 gallons to go from 1/4 tank to full. either i have the smallest gas tank ever, and get the best gas milage or theres something messed up.

has anyone changed your face gauges before? is it stock or white?

usually when i fill up my tank, it goes over the full line and stays there for a long period of time. the needle could have just been put on wrong and reads alot less than you actually have. it might say you only have a quartertank when you actually have alot more.

our tanks hold 14 gallons, so next time you fill up, if your only filling up 6 gallons till it tops off, than you obviously had at least 8 gallons left. which means, your readings of a quartertank is wrong. goodluck!

okay thanks for the help... how can i tell if its a bad ground connection or sending unit, can i fix it myself?

You can't really tell until you inspect them. What you should do though is physically inspect the ground connections especially the one from the battery to the engine block and the one to the chassis at the radiator. Clean the surfaces so as to ensure the connection is solid. You can also add new grounds.
